Legally Blonde is a 2001 American drama film directed by Robert Luketic. It stars Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, Selma Blair, Matthew Davis, Victor Garber and Jennifer Coolidge. The story follows Elle Woods (Witherspoon), a sister who tries to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner Huntington III (Davis) by earning a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, overcoming stereotypes against blondes, and triumphing as a successful lawyer. Blair was also included in People magazine`s list of the world`s most beautiful people in 2019. She also seems to be making a name for herself in the fashion world, starring in campaigns for Chanel, Miu Miu and Gap, while working with designers such as Marc Jacobs, Isaac Mizrahi and Stella McCartney. Before Witherspoon accepted the role of Elle, several Hollywood actors were considered for the role. But thankfully, everyone turned down the opportunity to star in the iconic film, allowing Witherspoon to show off her brains, beauty, and talents. In 2015, Taylor made headlines when she revealed in an interview with WNYC Studios that most of her relationships had been with women over the years. She admitted she`s not a fan of the coming out culture, saying, “I didn`t come out because I came out. I live.

Since 2015, Taylor has been in love with “American Horror Story” star Sarah Paulson. As for her 32-year age difference, Taylor praised Paulson for being so “brave” and honest about her life, and inspired Taylor to do the same. The final product came after “about 10 drafts of the script. I worked with the writers (Kirsten Smith, Karen McCullah Lutz, who worked on Amanda Brown`s novel) who stayed after filming began,” Luketic explained. “And we had to rethink and rewrite, often in the middle of the night.” An untapped idea for the finished film included an appearance by Judge Judy during Elle`s Harvard video essay in which Elle and her friends were chasing the show`s host.[10] Alanna Ubach instead suggested casting Witherspoon`s husband, Ryan Phillippe, for the role, which was rewritten as a male character, but Witherspoon didn`t think the idea would work. Legally Blonde also performed for three years at the Savoy Theatre in London`s West End, with Sheridan Smith, Susan McFadden and Carley Stenson as Elle and Duncan James, Richard Fleeshman, Simon Thomas and Ben Freeman as Warner.[13] [64] [65] The cast also included Alex Gaumond,[66] Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead. She also had great success on the small screen, with a recurring role as the sister of Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel) in the popular series “New Girl”, as well as roles in “Mad Men” and “Bloodline”.[67] Most recently, she starred in the Netflix series “Dead to Me” with Christina Applegate, where she was also credited as a producer. She dated Jason Segel in the 2000s before meeting her current fiancé and father of her child, Steven Rodriguez, in 2009. The couple has been engaged since 2013, but have not yet married. In 2016, the Home Again actress revealed that she loved starring in Legally Blonde, sharing that it was one of her favorite projects.

Luke Wilson comes from a family of actors that includes his brothers Andrew and Owen. After the success of “Legally Blonde,” Luke Wilson made a name for himself by appearing in tons of blockbusters, including “Old School,” “Blades of Glory,” and “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” to name a few. He also starred in classics such as “The Family Stone” and “The Royal Tenenbaums,” while appearing for several years in episodes of “That `70s Show” as Michael Kelso`s brother. Wilson has become an integral part of the comedy world with his wide range of projects and notoriety of surnames. While his brother, Owen Wilson, was drawn to mainstream films, Luke spent a lot of time on independent films like “Henry Poole is Here,” “The Wendell Baker Story” and “The Third Wheel.” Roger Ebert gave it three stars out of four, saying the film was “impossible to refuse” and that “Witherspoon effortlessly animated this material with sunshine and sharp wit.” [37] Todd McCarthy of Variety said Witherspoon gave a “wonderful and winning” performance. “Witherspoon shines stars from every pore, not to mention her hair, and is once again proving to be an actress worthy of comparison to the greats of the golden age like Carole Lombard and Ginger Rogers.” Michael Wilmington of the Chicago Tribune also praised Witherspoon`s performance, saying that his “comic timing is perfect, his personality irresistible. But it`s his wit and immersion in the role that really permeates the whole film and makes it work. He added that Witherspoon “pours so much humor and spice into Elle that she lifts up the whole film.” [39] B. Ruby Rich of The Nation called it “the best teen girls` empowerment movie to come in ages.” [40] CNN`s Paul Clinton praised the film as “a brazen satire that preserves a message: believe in yourself and follow your dreams.” [41] Davis began landing roles in 2000, and the lead role in “Legally Blonde” helped launch his acting career. Two years after the release of the original film, Witherspoon returned in Legally Blonde 2, which followed her character`s journey as an animal rights activist.

A musical adaptation was made in 2007 and Witherspoon co-produced a spin-off called Legally Blondes, in which twin sisters Milly and Becky Rosso played Elle`s young cousins. She also began her career on stage and appeared in a number of Broadway productions. In a 2013 interview with Greg in Hollywood, Garber came out as gay by saying, “I don`t really talk about it, but everyone knows about it.” He has been with his partner Rainer Andreesen since 2000 and married in Canada in 2015. Garber has a very close friendship with “Alias” co-star Jennifer Garner and even celebrated his wedding to Ben Affleck as one of the few other guests in attendance. Garner and Garber consider themselves a family, with Garner sharing that he sometimes feels like a grandfather to Garner`s “brilliant” children. You may know Linda Cardellini for her role as the permish-obsessed girl who competed against Elle Woods when she appeared in “Legally Blonde,” or maybe you know her for her short-lived lead role in “Freaks and Geeks” before her. But one of his most notable roles will always be Velma from the “Scooby-Doo” live-action movies. Cardellini is a seasoned Hollywood professional, with acting credits ranging from classics like “Brokeback Mountain” to “Kill the Irishman” to “A Simple Favor.” Cardellini made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” as the wife of Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye). She repeated her role in “Avengers: Endgame” and most recently in the Disney+ series “Hawkeye,” suggesting that her character would have a much bigger story in the MCU in the future.

Most recently, she appeared in the films “Gloria Bell” (2018) and “To All the Boys: P.S. I still love you” (2020). She also starred in the Netflix miniseries “Hollywood.” More than a decade later, Witherspoon currently stars and produces “Big Little Lies,” an Emmy-winning HBO drama. Producer Marc Platt was fascinated by the character of Elle Woods when he received a manuscript of an unpublished novel. [8] “What I liked about this story is that it`s hilarious, sexy and challenging at the same time,” says Platt. “The world looks at Her and sees someone who is blond and handsome, but no more. She, on the other hand, does not judge herself or anyone else. She thinks the world is great, she`s great, everyone is great, and nothing can change that. She truly is an irrepressible modern heroine. After the trial, Chutney was sent to prison, and Warner approached Elle and asked her to take him back, as she had proved.[8] She rejects him and realizes that he is superficial and a “complete bone head”. However, she and Vivian become good friends, especially after she leaves Warner.

She delivered the graduation speech two years later, while Warner finished without honor, no job offers, and no girlfriend. Emmett has set up his own law firm and has been dating Elle for two years, with plans to propose to her later that evening. The actress also starred and helped produce the limited-edition Hulu drama “Little Fires Everywhere” and Apple TV+ “The Morning Show.” When studio executives were looking for actors for the role, they first asked Beverly Hills, 90210 star Tori Spelling, to play Elle. After refusing, actress Christina Applegate was the next to be considered. However, she was reluctant to star in the film because she didn`t want to portray the stereotypical blonde more.
