The following rules apply to the opening break shot: (a) The tail ball starts in the hand behind the head cord. (b) If no called ball is inserted, the tail ball and two object balls shall each be dragged towards a rail after the tail ball has hit the rack or the shot is a breaking error. (See 8.4 Rail driving.) This is penalized by subtracting two points from the crusher score. (See 4.10 Fault.) The non-breaking player can accept the balls in position or ask the breaker to play another opening break shot until he meets the requirements for an opening break or the non-shooter player accepts the table in position. (See 4.11 Serious Misconduct) The player loses the rack if: (a) inserts the black bullet into an illegal shot; (b) pockets the black ball on a shot that leaves one of his balls on the table; (c) intentionally violates 6.2 Wrong Ball First; or (d) does not attempt to hit a ball. 6.17 Unsportsmanlike behaviour will be punished by loss of rack or other penalty, depending on the type of behaviour. The rack is the frame device, usually triangular, used to organize the object balls for the break shot at the beginning of the game. It also refers to the group of balls arranged in this way. To rack the object balls, you need to group them with the rack. A rack is also part of a game played with a single rack of object balls. Some games, such as nine balls, are scored at one point per rack.
22. DOUBLE WHAMMY FOULS. If the ball touches the required object ball before shooting, the player can shoot it, provided that a normal shot is used. If the tail stick hits the tail ball more than once on a shot, or if the tail stick is in contact with the tail ball when or after the tail ball touches an object ball, the shot is a foul. If a third ball is nearby, care must be taken to ensure that the bullet is not at fault under the first part of this rule. 7.2 Offences involving fouls (a) The shooter must remain seated during a shot (at least one cheek on the seat or seat cushion). If a seat cushion is used, it must remain flat and evenly cover the wheelchair seat. The seat cushion cannot be grouped on the seat that the shooter covers with the shooter`s legs or stumps. The shooter should not sit on the steering wheel or armrest.
The point at which the shooter`s buttocks rest on the seat or seat padding shall not be more than 27 inches/68.5 cm from the surface on which the wheelchair rolls in its normal operating position. (b) Players must not have their feet on the ground when playing a move. Players may not use their legs or stumps as a lever against any part of the table or wheelchair while playing a move. (c) Players can use aids such as tail extensions, special bridges, etc. Players cannot be supported if they actually shoot (however, another person may hold the bridge, but may not help with the tail stroke). If a player needs help rolling around the table, another person can help, but should not touch the wheelchair while shooting. Violations of the above are considered a violation of 6.17 Unsportsmanlike Conduct and are generally punished as follows: 1. attack, tail ball in hand for the opponent anywhere on the table; 2.
Attack, loss of the game in progress; 3. Infringement, loss of play. The arbitrator may choose a different sanction depending on the nature of the offence. If a player commits three fouls without firing a legal shot, it is a serious foul. In games marked from the rack, such as nine balls, fouls must be in a single rack. Some games like Eight Ball do not include this rule. The referee must warn a shooter who has committed two fouls when he comes to the table that he has committed two fouls. Otherwise, a possible third fault is only considered as the second. 17. FAILURE TO CONTACT THE OBJECT BALL.
It is a foul if the tail ball does not first come into contact with a legal object ball during a hit. Playing away from a touching ball doesn`t mean you hit that ball. Ball on an object bullet is called “on” if it is a legal target for the shooter. If the shooter uses his tail stick to direct a shot by placing it on the table without having a hand on the stick, it is a foul. 19.CUE BULLET SCRATCH. It is a fault (scratch) if the tail ball is inserted during a blow. If the ball touches an object ball that has already been inserted (for example, in a pocket full of object balls), the shot is a foul. The shooter can call “security” at any time after the break, allowing him to make contact with the legal object ball without taking a bullet and ending his innings. However, if the shooter pockets the legal object ball, the arriving player has the option to play the shot as on the left or return it to his opponent. (See 9.7 Illegally inserted balls that also apply during security.) Exception: If an object ball is on or outside the head rope (and is therefore playable), but so close that the tail ball touches it before the tail ball is taken out of the kitchen, the ball can be played legally.
36. PLAY BY INNINGS. During the game, players take turns at the table, with a player`s inning ending when he legally misses a ball or commits fouls. The shooter remains at the table as long as he continues to legally pocket so-called balls or win the game by scoring the required score. If fourteen balls from a rack have been legally inserted, the game is suspended until the balls are stored again. 8.18 Error An error occurs when the tip of the tail slips from the tail ball, perhaps due to too eccentric contact or insufficient chalk on the tip. It is usually accompanied by a high-pitched tone and is occupied by discoloration of the tip. Although some misconceptions involve contact of the side of the tail stick with the tail ball, it is assumed that such contact did not occur unless such contact was clearly visible.
A spoon shot in which the tip of the tail touches the playing surface and the tail ball at the same time, causing the tail ball of the fabric to rise, is treated as a misunderstanding. It should be noted that intentional missteps fall under Article 6.17 Unsportsmanlike Conduct (c). If no ball is inserted on a shot, the tailball must touch an object ball, and after this contact, at least one ball (tail ball or object ball) must be dragged towards a rail, or the shot is a foul.
